Albania, a part of the AgroWeb Central and Eastern Europe Network is created in aim to collect and provide information on agricultural institutions and other important agriculture related subjects to help users to find information and contacts in Central and Eastern European countries and former USSR.

IN ALBANIA


Stakeholder workshop to start develop research and extension information network in Albania Stakeholder workshop for the establishment of a virtual research and extension information and communication network in Albania will take place between 9-10 June 2011 in Hotel Continental, Vore-Tirana.

The event is organised in the framwork of the project UNJP/ALB/006/UNJ Phase II: Strengthening the functional linkages and building capacities among the stakeholders of the national research and extension system for providing effective and relevant services to Albanian smallholder farmers.

INTERNATIONAL


Albanian expert participating at the regional event focusing on Thematic Knowledge Networks Ms Tatjana Disnica, Director of Department of Extension Service, Research and Agricultural Information of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection, took part at the Regional Workshop on the Development of Thematic Knowledge Networks, 12-15 April 2011 Budapest - Hungary.

The workshop aimed to carry on the capacity and network building traditions of similar events of previous years by demonstrating new demands and challenges in knowledge sharing and seeking most suitable and up-to-date managerial and technological solutions. The workshop intended to bring together thematic network coordinators, content owners and ICT experts in order to discuss state of the art and practice solutions, standards and communication channels of knowledge management. FAO initiatives and ongoing programs with regard to agricultural information management were to be also covered. The workshop introduced the use of open source content management tools and open ended standards.
